One in five children lives in poverty in the United States. Save the Children’s U.S. Programs fight to break the cycle of poverty by working to ensure that all children are given a fair start in life.
Save the Children works in some of the most remote and struggling communities across America, providing early childhood education, literacy, physical activity and nutrition programming as well as relief during natural disasters and other emergencies. Its programs are proven and deliver powerful results such as more than 60 percent of children showing major improvement after participating in our literacy program. Its programs reached more than 70,000 of some of the most vulnerable children in the United States last year alone, putting these kids on a path to success.
